Why is Steeldash's "graded" steel products the strongest in the industry?
Steeldash only use "graded" steel in its metal roofing products.
Graded steel refers to a classification system that is used to identify the strength of steel based on its chemical composition. The grades of steel are determined by the amount of carbon, other alloys, and the mechanical properties of the steel, such as its yield strength and tensile strength.
In general, higher graded steel allows the roofing profile to span further. If you can span a roof panel further, you need fewer support columns - thus providing both material and labor cost savings. However, when purchasing metal roofing, consumers usually focus on only the gauge (thickness) of steel without taking into account the grade of the steel. In fact, many times you may be able to "gauge down" your roofing profile - saving as much as 30% on total material cost!
The grades of steel are typically designated by numbers or letters, with higher numbers indicating a higher level of strength. For example, grade 50 steel is considered to be stronger than grade 40 steel, and grade 80 steel is considered to be stronger than grade 50 steel.
Steeldash only uses grade 80 steel for all its 26GA and 29GA roofing products - the highest in the industry! So when comparing Steeldash's products to other suppliers, do not forget to compare the grade of the material used as other suppliers commonly use soft graded steel!
